First Day of School

Well, I am really striking out when it comes to posting a blog a day. It has been another hectic few days.

Today was my first day of classes for the semester. I had my first Introduction to Literature class, and also my first Introduction to Graphic Design. Neither class really seems like it will be all that hard, but it does seem like the Lit class with be a lot of work. We have a paper due every single class.

Yes, a paper, every. single. class.

Granted it is not a term paper nor a research paper, but it is some serious writing to have to do twice a week. I don't mind writing, but I hate having such strict guidelines to have to follow; everything from what font size and type face I have to use to exact measures for citations, oh and there must be plenty of citations, all the way to not allowing a simple contraction. No can'ts, won'ts, or don'ts. Certainly no ain'ts. To me it seems like overkill, but maybe these are the precautions English and Literature professors must take in this day and age to avoid all the OMG!!s and the typng pprs lk ths, lolz.

Despite her very strict guidelines, and not to mention being a nun, I think I will do pretty well in her class because I really like this whole writing thing, you know, since I'm doing this whole blog thing and all. I also really dislike that she is asking us to call her Sister so-and-so, instead of Professor so-and-so. She did say that we can call her Professor instead of Sister, if we like our separation of church and state and all, but I don't think that was something that needed to be said. Maybe I am just thinking too much about it, but it just feels weird to me.

Oh, did I mention the assigned seating? Or how about our gold stars?

I guess so long as she doesn't come to class dressed in her habit, and doesn't start slapping my hands for the papers I write, all will be well in the world.

As for my graphic design course, I'm feeling pretty good about that so far. The Professor is cool, and there is no homework, and even though it is the late class he says he won't ever keep us for the whole night. And I learned a thing or two in just one class.

Who'd have thunk it? I actually learned something at school!
